I tried to leave message for Dr. Keiser directly but the person answering the phone said it was a HIPAA violation to report to you what I believe is sketchy billing. My son got a strange bill from your office. I paid $400 in January. I have proof which I emailed to you. The statement showed I paid $239.71. It said I got a contractual write off of $175.61. That means I should show a balance forward of $840.00 – $575.61. But your statement credits me for paying $239.71. It was explained to me by your sketchy billin rep there was another cost not represented anywhere on any of the billing I received. It was not reflected in an original balance. It was just mentioned. According to her, half my $400 payment was allocated to that though nowhere was that phantom other charge documented to us (except after the fact) and no where is my actual $400 documented. Accounting means to account. Sending me a statement that doesn’t reflect all costs and payments is called cooking the books. Again the person who would not put me through to leave a message to the doctor for HIPAA reasons, the billing clerk just linked me to my son’s account, so HIPAA schmipaa. LOL. Maybe the doctors know about this creative billing, maybe they don’t. I would advise a third party accounting firm to go over the books.
