Hi,
I just wanted to let you know I think this is an amazing office. The staff is very hard working, especially on days like today where the patient load is nearly overwhelming.
I wanted to bring to your attention an incident that happened today (12/20/2021 around 12:15pm). One of the things that has commended itself to me about this office is it’s stringent mask policy.
This is why I was astonished and then disgusted at the behavior of two other patients and their guardian/father. The two patients (teenagers) did not wear a mask and instead loudly and repeatedly sneezed and blew their noses (and then wiped their hands) on the furniture. I was horrified. I left the clinic early (before my 30 minutes was up) because I have no interest in being around that kind of unsanitary/infectious behavior. As I was walking down the hall, another patient caught up to me and told me she witnessed the same activity (not wearing a mask, sneezing, wiping hands over the furniture) and she didn’t even bother to stay the whole 30 minutes after her allergy shots.
I want to reiterate that the staff is in no way at fault here. Today was terribly busy. What I would like to suggest is that staff be given the power to enforce a “no mask, no service” rule. The teenagers and their parent entered the clinic not wearing masks, in spite of all of the signage informing that mask wearing was required. Staff should be permitted to eject non-compliant patients for the safety of other patients.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Katherine Pickar
