I brought my baby for an exam on potential peanut allergy and I have not had sufficient communication from the office ever since. I went to pick the perscribed Epi Pen 2 days later to find that it was never called in to the pharmacy. I called my pediatrician to fill the perscription. I’ve called the office to get the required allergy plan documents my son’s daycare and never received a call back. I feel like we were told that my child has a life threatening medical condition with no support or follow up. I would not recommend this doctor or office as I’m not sure where the communication breakdown happened. I called in advance of the appointment to understand what they would do with my son, waited nearly an hour to see the doctor (with a 13 month old baby), and lost time at work since we had no idea that they would give him a painful skin test on the spot that day (and after waiting for so long just to see a doctor). We are seeking a second opinion, hoping that the next doctor will at least give us more insight on how to live with peanut and tree nut allergies and an outlined treatment plan if he were to be exposed. In the meantime, we are just walking in the dark with this newly diagmosed condition carrying our Epi Pens not knowing how or when to administer them and hoping my son never is given nuts at daycare!
